PostSubject: Alliance - The Importance of Member Participation   Wed Mar 16, 2011 5:12 pm

Many Alliances are merely groups of players huddling together hoping they will have some measure of protection. Along comes a strong player and picks off the members one by one while everyone else is praying that the current victim will defeat them or at least hold them up. This is a typical alliance and ultimately resulting from poor leadership.
To create a truly great alliance you need to get members involved, talking to one another and ready to defend and help their allies. This is your job as the alliance leader, should this sound like to much effort you should join an alliance instead, there is nothing wrong with being a member instead of the leader, I myself generally prefer to follow than lead as it does indeed take too much time.
Should you wish to create your own alliance there are a few ways to get your alliance members involved,
1. Construct your own alliance forum either with the in game one provided to alliances or an off site one like this.
2. Involve your members in decisions from small ones like alliance motto to large ones like should we go to war.
3. Try to structure your alliance with squads and ranks giving members something to aspire to.
4. Lead by example, eg. should members see you helping smaller members they themselves may wish to do so as they grow and have the capacity.
5. Get members involved while still new to Draco, a member which has been helped, shown respect, and been involved with an alliance from their first beginnings can become the most fiercely loyal.

There are of course many other ways however these are the ones I myself have done or seen done and been successful. I will also go into further detail for each of these when time permits.

Alliance Leader: Guardians of the Opressor

Okay, if you create a alliance when you are weak is completely useless. Since, most people prefer to invite people similar to their own population. If you are weak that is a problem. Also if you pick a tough guy to be invited. S/he will likely to think the alliance is too pathetic. Unless you have some kind of power between the alliance. Like the top 3 alliances. Finally, you might want to express your power to a war.
1. Give a reason to the player who you booted from the alliance. Or they s/he might ally another alliance and kick your but.
2. Make war or peace treaties with a alliance. Will make a difference in which people want to join.
3. Have a good description of your alliance. A proper one and not like &%$@ things like that.
4.Chat with your clan at least 5min or message them if you can. It can create bond.
5. Finally, think about what your ally wants. They will be more dependent on you and starts to listen to your command without convincing people.

Therefore that is all I can think of. If you think it is wrong tell me on this post.
